Class Info...6th Physical Education

Course Description: The Physical Education course is designed to expose the 6th grade student to a wide variety of “lead-up” games that will help them develop gross motor skills required for more advanced sports or games being taught in the 7th and 8th grades. It is our intention to provide and teach appropriate practices of physical education to the students so that they become a more physically educated person. In addition to loco-motor skills, students will have a conditioning portion in each class that will show the benefits and importance of health-related fitness skills such as muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and cardiovascular health.

Note: Pursuant to Nevada Law, presentations on Human Growth & Development and Human Sexuality as well as HIV/Aids education will be presented as part of this course.  Preview nights for parents will be available in advance of the classes for students. Parents MUST sign permission slips for their child to be included in these class sessions. When no signature is available, students will be given alternate educational assignments.
